DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Following a fatal shooting Sunday afternoon, a man is being held on a murder charge for allegedly shooting his daughter.

Dayton Police Department’s Homicide Unit is now investigating the shooting that landed a 38-year-old man in custody.

The shooting occurred around 12:20 p.m. Sunday when a 911 call brought officers to a home on Bowen Street. Upon arrival, police found a 15-year-old girl shot. She died at the scene.

2 NEWS learned from a police source the girl’s father was arrested after the parents initially reported an autistic boy shot their daughter.

In reviewing the 911 call, the moments right after the gunshot can be heard at the residence.
