Above normal temperatures on Sunday with severe storms possible Monday Night and Tuesday
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) -We’ll be very warm and sunny on Sunday, but severe storms are expected Monday night and Tuesday.
Today
It will be very warm and sunny for the end of the weekend. Highs today will rise into the upper 70s and low 80s.
Overnight & Monday
Overnight we’ll cool into the 50s with a clear sky. Monday’s forecast also looks sunny and warm with highs reaching the upper 70s.
Strong to Severe Storms Monday Night and Tuesday
However, the forecast changes beginning Monday night when a low-pressure system moves into the Midwest. This will bring the potential for severe storms on Monday night, with a higher chance for severe storms on Tuesday. High winds, damaging hail, and tornadoes will be possible with Tuesday’s system. Make sure to review your severe weather safety plan and download the First Alert Weather App ahead of the storms. We’ll continue to provide updates to the forecast.
Cooler Starting Wednesday
Chances for showers and non-severe storms continue Wednesday and Thursday with cooler temperatures in the 50s and 60s. We’ll start to dry out for Friday and next weekend with cooler temperatures in the 50s.
