The family of Lloyd Liken issued a statement of thanks to the community on Tuesday, a day after the body of the 81-year-old Bismarck man was found in a Wells County field five months after he went missing.
"The family of Lloyd Liken would like to thank the community for their unwavering help with the search for Lloyd. There is no way for us to thank all of you individually so we wanted to thank you all publicly," said the statement provided to the Tribune by Liken's daughter, Lisa Monroe. "The past 150 nights have been extremely difficult for us, and your care, comfort and concern has reminded us that we have an amazing support system during our time of greatest need."
Liken was last seen leaving the 4400 block of Turnbow Lane in his Toyota Highlander the night of Nov. 16, 2023. He did not have a phone. His vehicle was last seen north of Bismarck a day later, when a McLean County deputy on U.S. Highway 83 ran his vehicle plates but did not make contact with the vehicle.
