NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors' season-ending blowout loss vs. Kings in play-in tournament

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

After earning the No. 10 seed, the Golden State Warriors needed to go through the No. 9 Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament for a chance to earn a berth in the Western Conference playoffs.

Despite Golden State extending its season with a Game 7 win in the first round of the playoffs against the Kings last year, this Warriors season came to an end, 118-94, in the same arena one year later.

Behind the sharp shooting of Keegan Murray, the Kings landed an opening haymaker and quickly grabbed the early lead. While the Warriors cut into the Kings’ advantage at times, their attempt at a comeback never gained steam.

Murray couldn’t miss from deep, and the Warriors had no answer as their offense went silent. Steph Curry was the only member of the Warriors to register over 20 points: a team-high 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.

In a disappointing end to an up-and-down season, Klay Thompson went scoreless on 0-for-10 shooting and 0-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc.

Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga provided the lone spark for the Warriors, scoring 16 points each off the bench.

Murray blasted the Warriors, scoring a game-high 32 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the field with eight made 3-pointers to go along with nine boards in 39 minutes. De’Aaron Fox tacked on 24 points.

Following the Warriors’ ugly elimination loss to the Kings, the NBA community on X erupted with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media on Tuesday night.
