Hawthorne scored all four of its goals in the second quarter, including a pair by William Gerhardstein, and held on for a 4-3 win over Pompton Lakes in Hawthorne in the season opener for both teams.

Thomas Korpics and Logan Sakir also found the back of the net and Tyler Menne picked up an assist.
