FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a plane crashed at an airport in St. Lucie County.
According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, deputies received calls about the crash at 1:21 p.m. on Saturday at the Treasure Coast International Airport.

Upon arrival, deputies and units from the St. Lucie County Fire District found two people trapped in a twin-engine Piper Aircraft.
The sheriff's office is on the scene of the crash to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
NTSB will be handling the investigation.
