Marlins option RHP Max Meyer to Jacksonville, send Jake Burger to IL

MIAMI ā€“ The Miami Marlins are sending Max Meyer to the minor leagues.

The right-handed pitcher has 2 of the Marlins 3 wins on the season.

Heā€™s being optioned to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

The team is reportedly watching his innings count carefully because heā€™s coming off of Tommy John surgery.

The Marlins also sent infielder Jake Burger to the injured list.

Burger has a left intercostal muscle strain.

The Marlins are bringing back pitcher Edward Cabrera from the injured list.

The Fish also recalled infielder Otto Lopez.

The Marlins open up a series with the San Francisco Giants on Monday night.
