Robert Morris Earns Commitment from DII Transfer, Sees Two More Players Leave

On Tuesday, Robert Morris basketball had three storylines arise, all regarding the transfer portal.

First, the Colonials lost two players. TJ Wainwright told PSN that he would be entering the transfer portal, and Alfredo Boglio officially entered the portal. Wainwright is a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard out of California who averaged ten points per game on 43% shooting. Boglio is a 6-foot-3 freshman guard who started two games this season and appeared in 14 total contests.

Wainwright came to Robert Morris out of Montverde Academy in Florida, and as a rookie, he averaged just two points per game in 33 games played. He then exploded in his sophomore year for 13 double-digit scoring games for the Colonials. Boglio played in 14 games from the beginning of the season until late December. After scoring six points in three-straight non-conference games in December, Boglio did not score in each of his final three appearances for the Colonials.

Then, the Colonials earned some positive news as Division II transfer Josh Omojafo committed to RMU.

Omojafo spent two years at Gannon in Erie, Pennsylvania. He improved his statistics tremendously in his sophomore season, going from eight points per game to 20 points per game on average. As a second-year player, this year, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard hit 48% of his field-goal attempts and 32% of his three-point tries. He scored 699 points on the season to average a clean 20 points per contest. Omojafo won PSAC West Men’s Athlete of the Week twice, once in November and once in February. He scored a season-high 32 points against West Chester in mid-December, and also set a career high in assists during that game with six dimes.
