The Holmen High School boys and girls track and field teams posted victories at the Logan Invitational on Monday.
The boys team accumulated 242 points to beat second-place Logan (160), and the girls scored 238 to top second-place Logan (198) in a six-team meet at Swanson Field.
Freshman Jakai Ayed won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles with times of 16.46 and 42.86 seconds, and senior teammate Brandon Tarnow was second in both events at 16.7 and 43.75 as the Vikings scored 44 points in the hurdles.
Senior Sam Horman won the 800 (2:03.57) and senior Ethan Archer the 3,200 (10:16.19). Horman also helped Holmen win the 1,600 relay (3:36.57).
Senior Kaden Layland won the high jump (6 feet), and sophomore Jack Barth ran with the 1,600 relay and won the triple jump (42-6½). Barth was also second in the 400 (53.22).

Tomah junior Atlin Steinhoff won the shot put (45-3) and discus (169-1), and Caledonia senior Josh Beardmore won the 100 (11.0), ran with the winning 400 relay (43.37) and placed second in the long jump (20-5½). Junior teammate Fischer Waite won the 200 (22.69), ran on the 400 relay and ran on the winning 800 relay (1:31.59). Owen and Eli Staggemeyer ran on both relay teams.
Logan’s boys received victories from senior Isaac Trohkimoinen (400, 52.62) and junior Jacob Hackbarth (pole vault, 12-6).
Sophomore Lydia Lazarescu anchored the Holmen girls victory by winning the 100 (12.17) and helping the Vikings win the 400 relay (50.56) and 800 relay (1:46.54). Senior Maya Amundson, sophomore Abry Bloyer and freshman Molly McBride also ran on both of those teams.
Sophomore Sabrina Lechnir was part of the winning 3.200 relay (10:40.35) and won the 3,200 (12:03.77), and senior Jadyn Roden won the shot put (38-4½) and discus (125-10).
Sophomore Naomi Wedna’s win in the 800 (2:31.16), senior Anabella Filips’ victory in the 1,600 (5:34.44), sophomore Lauren Schindler’s win in the high jump (4-10) and sophomore Bela Waters’ victory in the triple jump (31-11) also helped Holmen win
Tomah senior Lily Joyce had a big day with wins in the 100 hurdles (15.59) and 300 hurdles (45.65), and she helped the Timberwolves win the 1,600 relay (4:16.92).
Arcadia’s Casidi Pehler, who won a WIAA Division 2 state championship in the pole vault as a junior, cleared 12-6 to win that event by 3 feet.
Onalaska Luther Invitational
ONALASKA — West Salem’s boys and girls won with 219 and 206½ points, respectively.
Abram Lassen led the boys success with wins in the 400 (54.84) and triple jump (39-0) while helping the 1,600 relay in 3:45.86.
Junior Brennon Anderson also ran with that relay and won the 800 (2:09.44), and senior Carter Walter won the 100 (11.46) and anchored the winning 400 relay (45.83).
Onalaska Luther junior Jack Schmeling won the high jump (5-10) and long jump (20-0), and Sparta senior Weston Blazek won the shot put (45-7¼) and discus (147-10).
West Salem’s girls were led by winners Rylan Riste (400, 1:03.57), Payton Greer (3,200, 13:24.91), Celia Mitchell (triple jump, 31-9¼ and Kate Fechner (shot put, 30-3¾).
Onalaska Luther junior Lauren Wickus won the long jump (17-7) and helped the Knights win the 800 relay (1:55.53) and 1,600 relay (4:38.95).
Melrose-Mindoro senior Claire Becker won the 800 (2:29.04) and 1,600 (5:36.32).
Prairie du Chien Relays
PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — Central won the boys championship with 85 points, which were four better than second-place Platteville.
Junior Bode Nesler (3,200, 10:43.48), senior Alex Wagner (pole vault, 14-5) and senior Peyton Strittmater (triple jump, 41-6½) were event winners for the RiverHawks.
Onalaska received winning performances from senior Max Erdmann (400, 52.8), its 400 relay team of Kasey Barth, James Siegel, Brendan Chenault and Gabe Maus (44.63) and junior Broden Steiner (high jump, 6-0).
Prairie du Chien junior Blake Thiry won the 100 hurdles (15.49), 300 hurdles (41.09) and long jump (20-9¼), and Viroqua’s 800 sprint medley of Owen Zahm, Nicholas Elisius, Addisu Newenhouse-Wright and Isaac Pratt won in 1:37.77.
Onalaska was the top local girls team with a second-place finish and 105 points in a meet won by Fennimore (114½).
Junior Isabela Gutierrez (400, 1:00.99), freshman Mara Klein (3,200, 12:56.01) and senior Jenna Richgels (long jump, 16-4¾) all won individual events for the Hilltoppers. Richgels also ran with Ella Stevens, Olivia Peterson and Makena McGarry to win the 400 relay (50.27).
Viroqua sophomore Alana Christianson won the 100 hurdles (15.65).
GIRLS SOCCER
MVC
Central 8, Sparta 0
SPARTA — The RiverHawks (3-1-1, 3-0-1) shut out the Spartans (2-2, 0-2) in a game that was called after 60 minutes.
Grace Wilkerson and Ellia Dale scored two goals apiece for Central, which built a 6-0 lead by the end of the first half. Avery Bosshard and Lilly Ackerman also scored for the RiverHawkss, who benefitted from two Sparta own goals.

The Blugolds won three of four singles matches and two of three doubles matchups.
Junior Anderson Fortney won his No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, and sophomore MItchell Fortney did the same at No. 2 singles. Sam Dickison and Patrick Gundersen were pushed by Vishnu Prakash and Lewis Go before pulling out a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 victory at No. 1 doubles.

The Blackhawks swept the singles matches and won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Ian Czap beat Rumen Southworth 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Sam Kane handed Antonio Perez a 6-0, 6-0 defeat at No. 2.
Owen King and Soren Declerq beat Jesus Gomez Nava and Xzavior Smith 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.
