New walking trail to come to Morningside area in Sioux City

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -A new walking trail is coming to Sioux City’s Morningside area.
The council approved a funding agreement for the ‘Christy Road to Glen Ellen Road Trail Project’. When complete it will include about two miles of trails from Christy Road to Glen Ellen Road along an abandoned railroad line.
The project includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge crossing over the creek on the north side of Old Highway 141. The project will be done in four phases, and it’s expected to be complete by 2030.
The total price tag for the project comes out to about $700,000, it will be funded through a Transportation Alternatives Program Funding Agreement.
