WASHINGTON — Police are looking for the thieves who broke into a man’s home in Northwest D.C. and stole some jewelry.
It happened on Saturday in the 1400 block of Madison Street.
Richard had just arrived home, with his son, that afternoon when he noticed a man acting strange. He called 911 right away. Moments after calling police, he realized their home had been broken into.
Richard checked his cameras. Sure enough, he says three suspects, two women and a man, broke into his home.
“They rummaged my desk. They got into our bedroom where my wife keeps her jewelry,” Richard said.
Thieves managed to get away with precious family heirlooms. Richard said thieves also stole their sense of security and privacy.
“An invasion of privacy. It’s a horrible feeling. Knowing someone was in there and taking things that were very special,” Richard said.
It’s still unclear how the thieves were able to get in but, Richard says he’s already investing in more home security and taking extra steps to protect his family.
Richard is hoping someone will recognize the suspects pictured below and lead police to an arrest.
DC Police are investigating.
