‘We will not give up:’ Community continues to pray for toddler who nearly drowned in Aventura

Child remains in ICU at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital

AVENTURA, Fla. – A 2-year-old girl who nearly drowned inside her family’s pool in Aventura last Saturday continues to fight for her life.

Shlomi Ezra, the father of Haleini Ezra, expressed his deep emotions to Local 10 News Monday outside of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.

Despite his daughter being on life support after being underwater for several minutes, Shlomi Ezra remains hopeful.

“I believe she will stay with us even if it’s against the odds. We will never give up,” he said tearfully. “My daughter is my oxygen, the reason I wake up in the morning. She gives me so much power. Even seeing her lying like that…I cannot give up on her.

The family holds a steadfast belief in miracles.

“There is hope. We all believe in the same God,” said Hanna Ezra, Haleini’s mother.

Surrounded by supporters outside the hospital every night, the family remains united in prayer, seeking solace and miracles. Despite understanding the odds, they continue to hope for the best.

The Ezra’s are hoping that many will continue to pray for their little girl.

“We believe in him (God) 100% that he will give us this miracle,” said Shlomi Ezra.
