GoFundMe fundraising efforts underway for Rockford stabbing survivors, heroes

Three more GoFundMe pages have created in response to Rockford's March 27 mass stabbing. These three are for survivors of the attack, some of whom acted heroically to save others.

Who is Lindsey Craig?

Police say Lindsey Craig was home when her locked back door was shattered, and Christian Soto, 22, of Rockford, broke into her home and attacked her.

How was she injured?

Craig was stabbed in the face, police said. When she tried to flee, the attacker caught her in the street outside and continued to attack her until a good Samaritan intervened. At the time of the GoFundMe post, Craig was still in the hospital.

How much money is the family trying to raise?

As of Wednesday morning, more than $11,400 has been contributed toward the $15,000 goal.

Who is Keith Fahrney?

Keith Fahrney is the good Samaritan credited with saving Craig's life and preventing additional deaths on March 27. Police say Fahrney was driving home that afternoon when he saw a woman being attacked less than two blocks from his home and stopped to help her.

How was he injured?

Fahrney was stabbed and sustained cuts to his head and jawline resulting in staples and stitches. He reportedly will be out of work for at least a week.

How much money is the family trying to raise?

Over $5,200 has been raised toward the $1,000 goal as of Wednesday morning.

Who are Cathy Gilfillan and Jacob Vollmann?

Cathy Gilfillan and Jacob Vollmann

Cathy Gilfillan, 23, and Jacob Vollmann, 21, are siblings who responded to their mother's cries for help when Soto attacked her while she was letting the dog out, police said. Soto then attacked Gilfillan and Vollmann in the family's home.

How were they injured?

Both were injured by the intruder and are taking two weeks leave without pay.
