NASA Artemis 2 will launch in Nov. 2024

Artemis triumphs!

After the success of Artemis 1, NASA is on course to launch the next mission, Artemis 2, in November 2024. It will be a crewed mission around the Moon.

Return to the Moon

The Artemis program will send the first woman and person of color to the Moon, marking humanity's return to the lunar surface after almost 50 years.

Exploring lunar orbit

Artemis 2 will take four astronauts around the Moon, but without landing on it, and will bring them back. The crewed mission would last roughly eight days.

Data analysis

Based on post-flight data analysis of the Artemis 1 mission, NASA officials said the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket is ready to support crewed Artemis missions.

Artemis 3

About 12 months after Artemis 2, NASA will launch Artemis 3 which will land astronauts on the south pole of the Moon.
