A 19-year-old was taken into custody following a crash on West Brown Deer Road early Saturday morning that killed a 53-year-old driver. It happened at the same intersection as the crash that killed a pregnant Milwaukee woman in January.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the April 6 crash happened just before 12:45 a.m. The 19-year-old driver was traveling east on West Brown Deer Road and crashed into the other driver, who was coming from the west and turning left onto North Servite Drive.

The 53-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old driver had non-life threatening injuries and was taken into custody. Police are still investigating, and charges are pending review by the district attorney. The release did not say the speed at which either car was traveling.

The Saturday crash mirrors a January crash that killed 32-year-old Monique Stewart, who was about eight months pregnant. That crash also happened on the 7900 block of West Brown Deer Road.

According to reports, Stewart was in a car full of family members that was heading west on Brown Deer Road and attempting to make a left turn onto North Servite Drive.

A Chevy Equinox heading east on Brown Deer Road, and about 60 mph above the posted speed limit, then crashed into the Dodge. The driver of the speeding car, an 18-year-old, was arrested. He is now facing six felony charges, including two counts of second-degree reckless homicide.
