More than $30,000 in funding for emergency food and shelter is available to local nonprofit, faith-based and government agencies that can act quickly.

Applications for grants from the funds must be emailed by Friday for consideration, according to an announcement Tuesday.

Crawford County has been awarded $33,639 in funding, the Crawford County Mental Health Awareness Program noted. The funds must be used to supplement food and shelter services and may not be used as seed money for new programs. Agencies may receive funds to provide food, shelter and supportive services.

These funds will be granted to local organizations that meet program criteria and have submitted compelling applications.

Applications and requests for additional information on requirements should be emailed to jcovert@ccdaec.org.
