WE CAN ALSO TELL YOU WE WATCHED FIRE TRUCKS ON GREEN HILL ROAD GRABBING EQUIPMENT FROM THOSE TRUCKS AROUND 2:00 TO PUT OUT THE FLAMES. CREWS FROM SEVERAL NEARBY TOWNS RESPONDED TO THE FIRE, AND CHIEF WALKER HERE AT THE BARRINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT TELLS ME IT WAS A STRUGGLE FOR CREWS TO GET LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER THROUGH THE AREA BECAUSE THERE ARE NO HYDRANTS, HE SAYS. THEY HAD TO GO BACK AND FORTH TO A LARGER WATER SOURCE IN ARIELLE. WE CAN ALSO TELL YOU THAT WE DID SEE SMOKE FILLING THE AIR HEADED TOWARDS THAT AREA. AT THIS POINT, WE DON’T KNOW HOW THIS FIRE STARTED, BUT AGAIN, WE DO KNOW NO ONE WAS HURT. WE CAN TELL YOU THE FLAMES HAVE BEEN KNOCKED DOWN AT GREEN HILL ROAD AND THAT THIS ALL HAPPENED RIGHT NEXT TO THE RIVER THAT’S IN THAT AREA. Fire crews from multiple towns helped put out a three-alarm fire in Barrington that left no one injured, authorities said.Officials said the fire broke out on Seavey Bridge Road around 1 p.m. Sunday near the Isinglass River.Barrington Fire Chief Rick Walker told News 9 it was a struggle for crews to get large amounts of water to put out the fire due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area.
