MONROE, La. (KNOE) - LifeShare Blood Center is urging the community to donate blood on April 10 due to severe weather potentially hurting blood supply.

As many parts of Louisiana face severe weather, LifeShare says it is important to remember patients are still in critical need of blood donations.

“LifeShare supplies blood and blood products to over 100 local hospitals; regardless of what is going on outside, our patients in our communities still need blood,” says Mandi Johnson, director of community engagement for LifeShare. “We’re asking our donors to be the sunshine in someone’s life, even during this stormy weather.”

Those who donate blood today will receive a complimentary limited-edition umbrella.

LifeShare also wants to remind anyone who wishes to donate to travel safely to their nearest donor center. Those who do donate blood today will get a complimentary limited-edition umbrella.
