ROCHESTER ā A Kenosha woman was being held on a $20,000 cash bond Wednesday in connection to a fatal hit-and-run March 21 in Rochester, according to the Racine County District Attorneyās Office.
Sarah McAuliffe, 36, was charged with hit-and-run resulting in death and carrying a concealed weapon. She faces more than 25 years in prison and more than $100,000 in fines if convicted on both counts.
Around 2:06 a.m. on March 21, Racine County Sheriffās Office deputies were dispatched to the area of North Milwaukee and North English Settlement avenues and reportedly found a man who had sustained injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle, according to the criminal complaint filed in the case.
RCSO identified the man as 33-year-old Joshua Billings, who deputies later learned was McAuliffeās boyfriend. Billings was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, the complaint said.

At 8:48 a.m., Billingsā cell phone received a call from McAuliffeās father, according to the complaint. The father reportedly said he was calling because he could not get in contact with Billings or McAuliffe.
According to the complaint, McAuliffeās father also gave deputies McAuliffeās address and said Billings drove an āolder black truck.ā
When deputies went to McAuliffeās residence in Kenosha, a black Ford F350 truck was outside, the complaint said.
McAuliffe allegedly told deputies that she had been driving the truck and that Billings jumped out of the vehicle and ran away, according to the complaint. McAuliffe also allegedly said she stopped the truck and looked for Billings but could not find him.
According to the complaint, McAuliffe sent her father a text at 2:39 a.m. that said āI donāt know what ... to do to be honest I donāt want to send them to school and then something happens and I am not available or Iām in jail. I donāt know what ... to do. He intentionally tried to ruin me just now, so thereās that, I will do as you wish because Iām at a loss right now.ā
On Monday, McAuliffeās father reportedly told deputies that he told his daughter multiple times to call the police, and that she allegedly admitted hitting Billings, according to the complaint.
McAuliffe is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing April 10.
