Prince Harry has his own life, he doesn't 'fit into the big picture of the working royals'

EXCLUSIVE: It seems like Harry is doing his own thing, and he likes it that way, according to a royal expert and professor at Royal Holloway.

There is so much going with the royals and it doesn’t leave a lot of room for Prince Harry, says one royal expert.

Daily Express UK spoke to Pauline Maclaran, professor at Royal Holloway, who said: “I don’t think Harry fits into the big picture of the working royals. He has his own life now in the US and pursuing his various ventures with Meghan."

She added: ”I can’t see him coming back into any royal role anytime soon, especially given all the slurs he has levelled at several members of the royal family.”

Professor Maclaran is referring to Harry’s 2022 interview with Oprah Winfrey and his 2023 memoir Spare.

"In addition, I’m sure it is seen as crucial to protect the privacy of the King and Kate as they go through their treatments, and I don’t think Harry can be trusted to keep confidences."

"So it’s very unlikely, in my view, that he would be admitted to the inner circles at this time.”

It’s being said, Harry reached out to both his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Princess Kate, with Maclaran sharing her thoughts on the matter: "If he reached out to William privately then that’s in a relational, informal sense as the younger brother expressing his sympathy. Same with wishing Kate well."

She adds: "These actions do not indicate any other official commitments or even acceptance by members of the Royal Family.”

Daily Express US reached out to Dr Martin Farr, professor at Newcastle University, who said: “It’s starting to appear like a soap opera, and that is part of the appeal of the institution, people want to discuss it, they want to text their friends, it’s a currency of conversation.”

He adds: “The more substantial parts of it are less exciting, and aren’t news stories, so they aren’t really discussed.”
