Car Dealership Group Settles Disability, Age Discrimination Suit

Greg Orr Auto Collection Inc. has agreed to pay $325,000 to settle a disability and age discrimination lawsuit brought by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in federal district court in Texas, the agency said Tuesday.

The car dealership group allegedly violated the the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act by firing a 65-year-old sales executive without prior warning after the worker received billing statements for a surgery that was part of his cancer treatment, according to the EEOC.

Gregg Orr Auto also then replaced the employee with a worker in their mid-30s.
