Residents living near the 700 block of South Main Street heard loud booms Wednesday morning, along with some blaring verbal commands.
In the end, an unidentified man was taken into custody on state and federal drug warrants after search and arrest warrants were served.
Involved in the arrest were agents of the Southwest Montana Drug Task Force, Montana Division of Criminal Investigation, and Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement.
According to Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester, three distraction devices were deployed, and a loudspeaker was used during the warrant service.
“No one was injured during the warrant service,” Lester said. “There is no ongoing danger to the public.”
Additional details will be released when available.
