Steelers Have New Favorite in NFL Draft

There's a new name leading the way for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new running favorite to be their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite plenty of noise around the offensive tackle group, oddsmakers believe the team will head in a different direct at pick No. 20.

Bookies.com currently has the Steelers selecting Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson with their first pick in the NFL Draft, sitting at +300 odds - a 25% chance. Following the star center is Duke center Graham Barton (+350), LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (+450), Alabama tackle JC Latham (+500), Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell (+500) and Washington offensive lineman Troy Fautanu (+750).

The most surprising name not on this list is probably Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims, who the Steelers met with at the NFL Combine, during Georgia's Pro Day and brought in for a pre-draft visit. Still, according to Bookies, they're not favored to make him their next first-round pick.

Adding a center does appear to be on the Steelers' big board and will likely happen in the first few rounds of the draft. Despite Bookies having Powers-Johnson as the favorite, All Steelers' latest mock draft has the team landing the second-favorite center, Barton.
