Metroplex to swing between storms and sunshine

Chances of rain scatter through Metroplex this week

The Metroplex will experience a rollercoaster of weather with both sunshine and storms as spring slips over Texas.

Steve Fano, National Weather Service meteorologist, said conditions for the first half of the week will likely be warm with storm chances on Monday evening.

“A couple of storms could be strong to severe, still looking at that, mainly a hail threat,” Fano said. “It does look like those storm chances end during morning hours on Tuesday.”

The rest of the week will be dry, with lows in the 60s and highs in the mid-to-low 80s until storm chances return for the weekend.

“[It] doesn't look like our storm chances return to the forecast until maybe Thursday afternoon, and more likely Thursday night and basically continuing for Saturday,” he said. “[It] looks kind of unsettled into the weekend with scattered showers and thunderstorms basically every day from Thursday through through the weekend.”

Fano said that Texas is entering its severe weather season, so residents should be aware and prepared for any possibilities.
