Through a new patch for Lethal Company v50, players have now discovered a deadly spike trap that can fall from the ceiling and kill you. You’re not just having to avoid monsters now, but hidden traps in places you may not have thought to look before.
New deadly spike traps arrive in Lethal Company and they’re terrifying
You can now find ceiling spike traps in any factory map and even sometimes the mansions. If a player gets into contact with one by walking under it, the trap will slam down onto the player to instantly kill them. As new patches release for the v50 public beta of Lethal Company, players are discovering new features, such as this deadly spike trap.
Players like “XxAnaaxX” in the Reddit post above have been sharing screenshots of the new trap since almost no one is talking about them. Luckily, YouTubers like “Bread” have gone into great detail on how this spike trap works. Players won’t be smushed until they’re fully under the centermost area of it, allowing you the freedom to avoid it before it hits you.
This means that there are still ways to cross the trap with items. As Bread explained in his YouTube video, you can place your items near the middle of the trap, run across it, and wait for it to slam down. Then once it lifts back up you have time to grab your items and go.
This type of trap can be activated by players once every 1.2 seconds. But there are also interval versions of these traps that slam down constantly without player activation. They can all have different timers which can make it difficult to time them if they have lengthy intervals.
If you thought that you could use these traps to kill monsters, you’re unfortunately wrong. This could’ve been a good way to bait monsters into getting slammed by these traps, but the trap won’t activate if there’s a monster underneath it. Not even the interval traps will hit monsters like the new Butler enemy, which is unfortunate.
