A father and son facing drug charges are set for a June 10 arraignment in Lyon County District Court.

Seth Kindt, 47, and his father, Duff Kindt, 75, are scheduled to appear before Judge Lee Fowler for an arraignment hearing regarding allegations of drug transportation and operation in February.

The Feb. 22 incident occurred during a routine traffic stop near Strong City. Documents subsequently posted online to the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal revealed that the Kindts were allegedly in possession of 10.5 pounds of marijuana, along with unspecified items indicative of a grow operation and two firearms.

The charges against the pair include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture. Seth Kindt faces additional charges, including criminal use of weapons by a person addicted to a controlled substance and speeding.

During a preliminary hearing on Friday, defense attorneys Steve Atherton and Monte Miller sought modifications to a no-contact bond provision. They requested permission for both defendants to attend the upcoming pretrial hearing via Zoom.
