Two arrested in Lyon County as part of multi-state vehicle theft investigation

DAYTON, Nev. (KOLO) - Two people were arrested in Lyon County on Tuesday in connection with a multi-state vehicle theft investigation.

On April 9, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of Six Mile Canyon Road in Dayton to assist the Grass Valley Police Department in an investigation into an allegedly stolen trailer.

During the investigation, police found that a 2024 Forest River trailer with a value of more than $48,000 had been stolen.

The next day, on April 10, detectives with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office stopped a suspect vehicle that had been identified during the investigation.

Police then arrested 35-year-old Justin McCorkle and 30-year-old Nicole Sandau. Both were booked into the Lyon County Jail and face drug and stolen vehicle charges.

McCorkle’s bail was set at $16,140, while Sandau’s bail was set at $3,140.

McCorkle is also on active parole for grand larceny of a motor vehicle and was also arrested for a parole violation.
