The weather was perfect for another Ohio University spring party on Saturday. This time it was High Fest. It’s named after the street where the party is held, not the condition of the partygoers. It seemed like every other house on High Street hosted its own party. There was plenty of action that could be seen from the street, but the real action was in the backyards. Mounted police clip-clopped their way to High Fest on Saturday — a tamer block party than in past years.
Primarily, there were a few house parties on High Street, nothing over the top. On Sunday, remnants of High Fest and Congo Fest — which occurred Friday on Congress Street — could be seen as cups and empty bottles sat on ledges and bed sheets painted with greetings hung off of porch roofs.
