Winnipeg Jets

Brenden Dillon (lacerated hand) will miss a second straight game, and Vladislav Namestnikov (fractured cheekbone) will also be out for the Jets when they play the Colorado Avalanche in Game 5 of the Western Conference First Round at Canada Life Centre on Tuesday (9:30 p.m. ET; CBC, TVAS, SNW, ALT, ESPN).

Dillon, a defenseman, sustained his injury during a scrum following the Jets’ 6-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3 on Friday.

Namestnikov, a forward, sustained his when he was hit by a shot from teammate Nate Schmidt at 6:57 of the third period of a 5-1 loss to Colorado in Game 4 on Sunday.

The Jets trail 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Colin Miller will play his first Stanley Cup Playoff game with the Jets; he was acquired from the New Jersey Devils on March 8.

“Just get into it quick,” Miller said of his approach. “When you’re home for a couple of weeks and stuff like that, you just want to get a couple of shifts under your belt and go from there.”

Cole Perfetti will make his NHL postseason debut. The 22-year-old forward had 38 points (19 goals, 19 assists) in 71 regular-season games.

“Obviously, I’ve wanted to play in a “Whiteout” for a while, and now I'm getting the chance to do that in a huge game,” Perfetti said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun and I'm just looking forward to it and I'm just going to try and enjoy it and play my game and probably just soak it all in. It’s going to be fun.” -- Tracey Myers

New York Islanders

Matt Martin will not play in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; MAX, MSGSN, TBS, BSSO, SN360, TVAS) because of a lower-body injury.

The 34-year-old forward made the trip with the Islanders but will miss his second straight game. He will be replaced by forward Simon Holmstrom.

New York trails 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

"Still the same. Day to day," coach Patrick Roy said Monday. "He's a leader on our team, so guys want to be around him for sure."

Martin has 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in 88 career playoff games. He does not have a point in three games in this series, which Carolina leads 3-1. -- Stefen Rosner
