NYPD to ban cops wearing shorts, white turtlenecks, cargo pants: Report

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is instituting new rules regarding uniforms, set to take effect this summer, the Daily News reported.

Shorts will be banned for cops on transit beats, as will turtlenecks while on patrol. Tactical cargo pants for patrol officers are a non-option, while the department will reinforce a ban on shoelaces that are not black, according to the report.
