A young South Carolina mother died Wednesday after becoming trapped in the machinery at the fabric factory where she worked.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at Carolina Cotton Works in Gaffney, about 55 miles southwest of Charlotte, N.C.

Brianna Danielle Coyle, 30, “became trapped at the machine where she was working,” Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler told WYFF.

She was discovered by her co-workers and taken to a hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead at around 1 p.m. No other details about the industrial accident were released.

Coyle was married and had a young daughter, according to her Facebook profile.

“We had a tragic accident at CCW today,” a human resources manager told WYFF. “Unfortunately, one of our employees has passed away. We are deeply saddened and are cooperating with the proper authorities as we conduct our investigation.”

The accident is being investigated by the coroner’s office and the South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Carolina Cotton Works was founded in 1995 and specializes in medical PPE, dyeing and flame retardant materials, according to the company’s website.
