MINDEN, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Douglas County School Board is back to square one once against after another superintendent candidate fell through.
The board initially offered the permanent role to Jeannie Dwyer in early March but the motion was voided shortly thereafter due to a possible open meeting law violation because it wasn't on an agenda beforehand.
During Tuesday's board meeting, members voted against promoting Dwyer, who's been serving as the interim, to the position full time.

The board will now turn their attention to the eight other candidates who applied for the job and determine who is the most qualified to become the next superintendent.
Members of the board recently rejected a contract for John Ramirez Jr. after public outcry brought his criminal history to light. The board initially named Ramirez Jr. as longtime superintendent Keith Lewis' replacement but quickly changed course when his extensive criminal history was revealed.
