Two Juveniles In Custody After Escaping Out Of Transport Van In Harrisburg

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The two juveniles that escaped from a transit van while being transported to the Cabarrus Juvenile Detention Center have been arrested following a short vehicle pursuit, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officials said the juveniles collided with a police car on Brookshire Boulevard near Beatties Ford Road.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

HARRISBURG, N.C. – Two juveniles escaped from a transit van while being transported to the Cabarrus Juvenile Detention Center on Thursday afternoon, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

The juveniles – identified as Joshua O. and Jeremiah W. – escaped near 4445 Schoolhouse Road in Harrisburg around 1:05 p.m.

Officials said there is a high degree of concern due to the juvenile’s alleged assaultive behavior during the escape. Officials said the two have also exhibited unpredictable behavior in the past.
