Triple shooting leaves 3 men injured in West Philadelphia: police
PHILADELPHIA - Three men are recovering from several gunshot wounds after police say a shooting occurred in West Philadelphia Monday evening.
According to police, the incident occurred on the 5300 block of Chancellor Street at 5:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, police were made aware of the following three victims and their injuries:
- A 29-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to each of his calves. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center via medics where he was placed in stable condition.
- A 35-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh. He was taken to the same hospital by medics where he was placed in stable condition.
- A 25-year-old man suffered a gunshot to his back and was also transported to Penn by police where he was placed in stable condition.
"Upon police arrival they located three individuals that were shot. One on the 5400 block of Walnut Street," said Captain Joe Waters.

No weapons were recovered at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Police say people were firing at each other from opposite ends of the block on Chancellor Street
FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson spoke to folks who were in the West Philly neighborhood when it happened and one family says the incident occurred way too close to home.
Kareemah Richardson has a picture of her 20-year-old son Rahmeer Jackson painted on the front of her Southwest Philly home. Someone shot him on June 20th of last year just around the corner.
"Innocent kids was out here. Innocent ones and all y’all want to do is shoot. No. We’re tired," said Richardson. "People just put down the guns please. I wouldn’t want nobody else to go through what I went through."
Richardson was brought to tears Monday because the trauma of gunfire was literally close to home again.
Andrea Johnson, the block captain, had just gotten home when it happened.
"You just hear all these gunshots and as I’m parking, I’m getting out of the car you see another man, I don’t know if he was just coming down, retaliating whatever but he’s just shooting after the car. But it’s broad daylight with families out," said Andrea Johnson. "To come home and to almost be caught in gunfire is like one of the most disheartening things."
A couple in the neighborhood say they are looking to move their family off the block.
"A few seconds later it was just a pop pop pop and obviously our kids are in the room. We’re like go upstairs in the backroom get away from it," said Kelly Fogle.
"It makes me worry. I’ve been trying to get my mother off the block for a few years. but she raised her kids here, her husband died here. My father died of a heart attack. This is her home and this is our home," said James Fogle.
