RACINE — An event intended to help increase access to higher education for area residents is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the conference center of the Racine Building at Gateway Technical College, 1001 S. Main St.
Attendees should use the northeast entrance (door 21) off Pershing Boulevard near the skate park.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a point of access to more than $150 billion in grants, loans and school-based financial aid programs.
The rollout of the New FAFSA form in December 2023 has complicated the process and caused some delays in students getting their financial aid offers from their intended schools.
This event will help bridge the gap for students who might be struggling to complete the form.
High schoolers are encouraged to bring their parents, who are the “contributors” to the financial aid form and have a component that must be completed. Students and parents should create an FSA ID at studentaid.gov. High school students are advised to use a personal email address.
