Big Time Rush star Kendall Schmidt welcomes first child with wife Mica... four months after tying the knot

Kendall Schmidt and his wife Mica von Turkovich are now parents to a healthy baby girl.

On Saturday, the Big Time Rush star announced on Instagram that Mica had given birth to their first child.

'♥️Maple♥️,' the proud new parents wrote in the joint post along with two photos of their adorable little baby.

For the cover photo, Schmidt stood out of view as he held up the newborn, who looked super cute in a gray top and a matching white and gray-patterned pants.

They also keep their baby warm and snug by adding a beanie cap to the ensemble, as well as a pair of oversized white socks.

Schmidt and von Turkovich met back in 2012 but did not begin dating until three years later.

They were an item for about seven years by the time the Wichita, Kansas native got on one knee and popped the question at Radio City Music Hall in New York City in June 2022 while Big Time Rush was on tour.

Holding off from going public for a little while, Schmidt ended up surprising fans last November with two back to back major announcements, which included revealing he and von Turkovich had quietly tied-the-knot.

He and his new bride would also share the news that they were expecting their first child together with a black and white social media post of the pair on their wedding day.

'Thankful for my baby ♥️,' Schmidt wrote in the caption alongside a photo of the newlyweds as they sat next to one another on a sofa outdoors, with floral arrangements surrounding the furniture.

On the very same day, he shared a joint post showing a video of von Turkovich standing in a sunny field with a cropped long-sleeved shirt that highlighted her growing baby bump.

'Thankful for our baby,' the pair shared, which was set to a snippet of The Carpenters'  classic hit song They Long To Be (Close to You) playing in the background.
