Nebraska State Patrol Troopers have arrested a Utah man on Sunday after locating nearly five pounds of suspected fentanyl pills during a traffic stop in North Platte.
Tyrone Cash, 38, of Spanish Fork, Utah, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
A press release from the Nebraska State Patrol said at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, a trooper stopped a Kia SUV traveling without headlights or taillights on Jeffers Street.
The trooper searched the vehicle, revealing multiple bags full of fentanyl pills. They also located a handgun in the vehicle.
Troopers arrested Cash. He is lodged in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
