WESTFIELD — To plug a shortfall in the budget, school administrators are recommending closing the Westfield Virtual School.

School administrators presented a proposed fiscal 2025 budget at an April 9 meeting of the School Committee. Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski said he suggested the proposed cut reluctantly, and both he and other speakers made a case for keeping the school open, if money can be found.
