Broncos met with CB Carlton Johnson at the Senior Bowl

The Denver Broncos met with Fresno State cornerback Carlton Johnson at the Senior Bowl earlier this offseason, according to the Denver Gazette‘s Chris Tomasson.

Johnson (5-11, 173 pounds) did not run a 40-yard dash at the NFL combine due to a hamstring injury, but he is considered one of the fastest players in the draft. He ran an unofficial 4.28-second 40-yard dash at Fresno State’s pro day last month.

Johnson started his college career at Riverside City College before transferring to Fresno State in 2022. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, he totaled 82 tackles (seven behind the line of scrimmage), 13 pass breakups, five interceptions and one sack in 20 games.

Johnson is projected to be a late-round pick later this month. The Broncos currently hold three picks in the fifth round and a pair of picks in the sixth round, but Denver does not have a seventh-round pick.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.
