A woman has shared a simple yet effective hack to making the smoothest gravy every time that is perfect for a Sunday roast.

Making gravy from a tub of granules can be a painstaking task as you may end up with some crunchy crystals still hiding within the liquid. But there is a way to avoid this by using two differing temperatures of water that one woman has shared with the world.

The woman, who goes by @bingsbean on TikTok, shared her simple hack to getting smooth gravy every time.

The post was captioned: "Perfect gravy everytime hack! So for all the people that dont get it! You mix cold water with the gravy granules before pouring the boiling water in, so you don’t get any lumps Watch till the end. My nan taught me this hack."

The TikTokker began by pouring the gravy granules into a jug and then adding in cold water to just cover the granules and no more. She then whisked them together and then added in boiling water to the amount that you'd desire for how much gravy you want.

The gravy was then whisked consistently until all the granules have disappeared completely. The TikToker then poured some of the gravy onto a plate and showed how smooth and thick the gravy is using this hack.

This video was watched more than 157,000 times in just 22 hours with over 1,300 likes. Viewers have flocked to the comments of this video to share their shock at this simple tip.

One person wrote: "Thank you...all the black bits have gone!"

Another said: "My mum taught me this too, my cold water before, makes it not lumpy. Always do this now!"

A third added: "This! I see way too many just adding boiling water and it turns lumpy and nasty. I've done mine this way my whole life."

And a fourth noted: "This is what I do. Definitely the best gravy."
