Officials say the 55-year-old hit a motorcycle head-on, killing 53-year-old Andrew Troia.

Lucas was charged on Wednesday, April 10, with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing death (15-year felony), and operating while intoxicated third offense (one to five years).

The 55-year-old man was charged in Romeo District Court, where the bond was set at $750,000 cash/surety, no 10%.

A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, at 10 a.m., and a preliminary exam is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, at 9 a.m.

“A man’s irresponsible choice to allegedly drive drunk caused a fatal collision resulting in the senseless loss of a life,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. The alleged drunk driver will be held fully accountable for his actions, as there’s no excuse for such disregard for human safety.”
