PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A week after a shooting at The Venue Gentlemen’s Club left one dead and another wounded, authorities have identified the man killed in the club’s parking lot.

Morieo Camel-Harris, 35, was already dead by the time Portland police arrived around 5:30 p.m. on April 1, officials said. A medical examiner later determined his death was a homicide.

Another man shot in the parking lot off Southeast Stark Street had life-threatening injuries, but was rushed to the hospital and appeared to be stable by Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers did not arrest anyone at the scene and no suspects have been publicly identified. But, investigators searched the scene at the strip club for several hours.

One dancer, Gemini, told KOIN 6 News she was concerned for her safety the evening of the shooting.

“It’s a pretty nice club inside. This is pretty much out of the ordinary,” she said. “All the people that come in are pretty laid back. It’s a gentlemen’s club, so you’re supposed to have fun and stuff. But this, this is big.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact Portland police.
