Former Palm Beach County substitute teacher accused of having sex with 12-year-old student

CBS12 News is learning new details in the case of a former Palm Beach County middle school substitute teacher, accused of sexual misconduct with a student.

21-year-old Corey Pierce taught at two Palm Beach County middle schools.

He is behind bars, facing charges of lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim less than 16 years of age and for soliciting lewd behavior with a student. These incidents happened at Woodlands Middle School in Lake Worth.

As of Monday, there are new charges. Pierce faces two counts of sexual battery 12 years of age but less than 18 years and one count of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student.

The paperwork CBS12 News obtained details what an additional victim says they went through.

According to the court documents, on April 3, 2024, school district police responded to Tradewinds Middle School in Greenacres to take a report from a female student and witnesses about new allegations of inappropriate behavior.

According to the victim, Pierce would pull her out of class telling her the front office wanted to see her. A witness told investigators they saw the victim and Pierce hugging.

According to the victim, she met Pierce while he was a substitute and hall monitor at Tradewinds Middle School. Then their relationship turned sexual. At the time, she was only 12-years-old.

She told investigators, that from October of last year to December, Pierce would have her meet him in two empty classrooms during the school day.

In those classrooms, she says he would have her perform sexual acts.

During that time frame, the victim says the encounters were happening every other day.

She also says they would Facetime at night.

The victim says the last time she was with Pierce was on March 24, 2024. She says he picked her up at her house and they had sex in his car.

Pierce was supposed to be in court Wednesday afternoon, but that hearing was canceled.

His next court appearance is set for May 6, 2024.

As it stands, there are three reported victims. There may be more out there.
