DALLAS — Part of Coit Road between Osage Plaza Court and Sugar Cane Way in Dallas will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday as DART does construction for a new rail project.

Crews will begin setting beams for a new rail bridge as part of the DART Silver Line Regional Rail Project during this time, DART said.

Both southbound lanes of Coit Road will be closed as part of the project, DART said. The two northbound lanes will be repurposed into a two-way road.

Residents and visitors at the Palencia apartment complex will have to use the alternate entrance on the north side facing Osage Plaza Court, DART said.

After the beams are placed, Coit Road will be restored to four lanes of traffic.

The DART Silver Line will be a 26-mile commuter rail traversing seven North Texas cities (Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Dallas, Grapevine, Plano and Richardson) between DFW Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano. It will cross three counties and is aimed at improving accessibility and mobility across the northern part of DART's service area.

The Silver Line's service is scheduled to begin sometime in late 2025 or early 2026.

More about the project and construction updates can be found at DART.org/silverline.
