TINICUM TWP., Pa. -- A Bucks County estate with a "survival bunker," an underground shelter in case of emergencies, will be auctioned off April 29.
This home is ready for anything. A big party, happy hour, perhaps a wedding, a workout and even a disaster.
The 15,000-square-foot Italianate-style home at 254-256 Cafferty Road in Pipersville (Tinicum Township) has eight bedrooms, five full bathrooms and four half-baths, according to Elite Auctions. The property overlooks the Delaware River.
There is also a guest house, heated pool, outdoor kitchen, heated garages including a vehicle lift, a bar and a home gym on the 11-acre property.
The auction has no reserve, so the property will go to the highest bidder.
The estate's most unusual feature may be its underground bunker to provide security in case of disaster.
The shelter is 56 feet by 18 feet, or about 1,000 square feet, bigger than many apartments. It has a vault, an air-filtration system, shock-wave protection, and a security system for monitoring the property's more than 30 cameras.
The estate also has its own water treatment system and 125-kilowatt generator, on top of all the luxurious elements.

Elite Auctions said the home has more than 5,000 square feet of Brazilian cherry woodwork, including a 139-foot banister. The "great room" includes a limestone fireplace, a billiards area and built-in bookcases.
