A Naples man was arrested on Wednesday after threatening to kill his former co-worker.
According to the Naples Police Department, Chrisitan Gutierrez, 24, was sending his old co-worker texts saying, "I swear to God I will kill you," and calling him throughout the night.
Gutierrez was recently fired from a pool construction business along U.S. Route 41. He had also reportedly been video-chatting with another employee, saying he was going to come in and harm the victim.
When Gutierrez stated he was on his way to the business, NPD set up a perimeter around the building and attempted to find out where he was.
NPD issued a county-wide be on the lookout (BOLO) alert for Gutierrez.
Thirty minutes later, the police department was called to Golden Gate Estates, where a drunk man was spotted trying to break into a home.
Gutierrez was taken to the Naples Jail Center.
He was charged with electronic threats to kill or cause bodily harm, a second-degree felony.
