Wisbech teen cyclist seriously hurt in hit-and-run

A man has been arrested after a teenage cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident.

The 15-year-old boy remains in hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries after he was hit by a car in Wisbech at 19:35 GMT on Sunday.

Cambridgeshire Police said the vehicle failed to stop at the scene, on Clarkson Avenue.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink-driving.

He was taken into custody at King's Lynn police station.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of the moments leading up to it is urged to contact police online or via 101, quoting reference 385 of 25 February.
