On Saturday, a Killeen nonprofit Christian child care center, New Creation Learning Center, hosted a grand-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The event started about 11:30 a.m., 5251 Trimmier Road Suite 200, with the music blasting, multiple bouncy houses, snacks and food along with games for the children at the event to enjoy.
Families, staff members and Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce officials gathered outside to get ready for the ceremony, hear a couple of words from center and IBCC officials and get to see a tour of the newly opened facility.
“We nurture the spiritual and we also help them with their academics,” said Lisa Jimmerson, director of New Creation Learning Center. “My hope is for the kids to be able to come here, get a good spiritual foundation and also a very good academic foundation so when they go to school they’re ready, or even possibly can skip a grade.”
New Creation Learning Center is a nonprofit Christian-based facility that provides quality education in a safe and loving environment, officials said. The day care provides meals, different programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged kids along with tours for people looking to enroll their child. The main educational programs the center will be using is Frog Street and Abeka, a Christian curriculum.
