For the first time since 2017, the total solar eclipse will sweep across the United States - bringing moments of darkness from Texas to Maine.

Three Michigan news stations have partnered for the astronomical event that you have to see to believe: Eclipse Across America Digital Special.

Starting at 2 p.m. April 8, virtual attendees will receive live reports from reporters and meteorologists from News Channel 3, Mid-Michigan NOW, and UpNorthLive.

Stationed around the Midwest, reporters will bring full coverage as the path of totality approaches.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon is perfectly sandwiched between the Earth and the sun, but at a close enough distance where it appears large enough to block out our closest star.

This type of celestial event hasn't happened since 2017.

Be sure to tune into the station's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as within this article to watch LIVE.
