A man has died in a farming accident in Knox County.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said 81-year-old William Mills, of Gray, was killed Tuesday afternoon when he got off his tractor to open a gate. The tractor was in neutral with the parking brake on, police said, but the large load the tractor was carrying caused the vehicle to back into Mills, trapping him between the tractor’s trailer and a gate post.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Knox County Coroner’s Office.
